On any given day, an STS maps out floor plans for a smaller apartment, coordinates trusted estate sale vendors, helps a senior safely sort through a lifetime of memories, and manages the entire physical move into an assisted living or memory care community to ensure a calm, dignified transition.

Because this is a highly specialized, in-demand niche in the eldercare industry, a freelance STS commands strong compensation. As an independent, freelance Senior Transition Specialist, you can expect to make between $40 to $80+ per hour, or charge flat, package-based project rates ranging from $1,500 to $5,000+ per transition depending on the size of the home and the complexity of the relocation logistics.
